Abingdon Police Department- Missing Juvenile 3-20-19

On Wednesday, March 20, 2019, Angelina Roberts went missing after leaving her school, Abingdon High School, with an unknown subject. 

While at school, Angelina made a phone call on a borrowed phone and subsequently deleted the number.  A short time after she placed this call, Angelina was seen getting into a small blue sedan outside the school.  The make and model of this vehicle is unknown at this time.

Angelina has known ties to the Blountville, TN and Mountain City, TN areas.  Angelina is described as a white female, brown hair, blue eyes, weighs 120 lbs. and is 5’5” tall.  Her picture is below.

The Abingdon Police Department urges parents of students at Abingdon High School to talk to your children for any information they may have, so that Angelina may be located safely.

TRAFFIC INFORMATION FOR 2019 SHAMROCK 4MILER

Traffic Information FOr 2019 Shamrock 4miler

The Shamrock 4 Miler will be held Friday, March 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. in downtown Abingdon. This is a large event that originates, and ends, at the Abingdon Farmers Market on Remsburg Drive. The four mile loop course, and one mile walking loop, guide participants through downtown Abingdon primarily on Valley and Main Streets.

Motorists are advised to use caution when passing through downtown Abingdon on Friday night.  Be alert for police, fire, and public works directing traffic and for participants in the roadways.

Due to race preparations, Remsburg Drive will be closed on Friday at 3 p.m. to allow for set up of the timer station and registration areas. Remsburg will remain closed until 11 p.m. Friday night.

Traffic will be slowed, delayed, and diverted to allow participants to safely complete the course.

Please expect delays on the following streets:

Abingdon Police Department- Felony Eluding Arrest

On Friday, March 1, 2019, at approximately 12:42AM, Officer B.T. Graham was on patrol in the 700 block of East Main Street, when he observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed. Officer Graham initiated his emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the motorcycle. The rider chose to disregard the signals of the officer and continued on East Main Street, merging on to Interstate 81 Southbound from Exit 19. The operator of the motorcycle left the interstate at Exit 14 on to Jonesboro Road. The motorcyclist then struck the median that divides the north and south bound lanes of travel crossing into the parking lot of the BP Station at 191 Jonesboro Road.  The operator lost control on the parking lot and was apprehended by the officer. 

The offender was identified as Gabriel Jimmy Zerran Fuller, 22, of 291 Dream Farm Road, Birchleaf, VA 24220. He was arrested and charged with Felony Eluding Police, in violation of § 46.2-817 of the Code of Virginia; and Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle, in violation of § 46.2-213 of the Code of Virginia. Fuller is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
