Hotel Party Yields Meth Bust

On Monday, April 27^th, 2015 at approximately 3:00AM, officers from the Abingdon Police Department responded to the 200 block of Town Centre Drive after receiving an anonymous call about a party on the 3^rd floor of a local hotel. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the occupants of the room and obtained consent to enter and search the room. The search yielded a small plastic bag of white crystal substance, consistent with methamphetamine, several syringes, and other drug paraphernalia. These items were in possession of Tommy Lynn Vaughn, 47, of 1888 Plainview Road, Adairsville, GA. 

Vaughn was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Schedule I and II Controlled Substance, in violation of § 18.2-250 of the Code of Virginia; and for Possession of Paraphernalia, in violation of § 54.1-3466 of the Code of Virginia. Vaughn is being held without bond at the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail.
