ATTENTION LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS CERTIFIED IN VIRGINIA, WE ARE HIRING!

Due to unanticipated vacancies, the Abingdon Police Department is seeking EXPERIENCED applicants who currently possess certification as a LAW ENFORCEMENT officer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

The most desirable applicant will possess a current law enforcement certification in the Commonwealth of Virginia, have 1 to 10 years of law enforcement experience, be a United States citizen, be at least twenty-one years of age, possess a high school diploma or GED, be in good physical condition, have vision correctable to 20/20, possess a valid Driver’s License, possess a good driving record with a positive point balance, successfully complete a drug screen, and extensive background check.

Applications are ONLY available at the Abingdon Police Department, located at 425 West Main Street, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Application packages WILL NOT be mailed to potential applicants.
