Please share!

Please read and share the following information from Chief Sullivan:
Social media has been filled with reports of stalking in the Bristol, TN area. The Bristol, TN Police Department released a statement concerning these two alleged incidents: http://wjhl.com/2017/08/30/bristol-police-posts-statement-about-alleged-suspicious-behavior-on-social-media/
This is a great time to remind the community of the importance of calling local law enforcement BEFORE MAKING A POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA. While social media is a powerful tool to warn people of emergencies and disasters, it cannot investigate, detain, or arrest. However, it can create hysteria, destroy evidence, and promote rumors and unfounded fears.
The slogan, "See Something, Say Something" is intended to create lines of communication with emergency management agencies. Using these lines of communication, law enforcement can establish investigative details and gain information about the suspicious activity that you report. Please call 9 - 1 - 1 when you suspect something is wrong. Delay your social media posts until you have reported your information to the authorities for investigation.
