Abingdon Police Department

For Immediate Release

Launch of Anonymous Crime Tip Line

The Abingdon Police Department is pleased to announce its latest crime fighting tool and we are seeking help from the community to assist us using it.

The APD has established an ANONYMOUS and toll-free TIPS hotline, 1-844-200-TIPS, to ask for the public’s help with possible crimes being committed in Abingdon, VA. If you have information about an Abingdon case, please call 1-844-200-TIPS (8477). All calls to the tip line are confidential. The tip line uses a Third Party Voicemail system to ensure caller anonymity.

The tip line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. However, it is important to note that this does not replace traditional police services. If you have an emergency please dial 911 or, for non-emergency situations, dial Washington County, VA dispatch at 276-676-6277.

The tip line (1-844-200-TIPS) can be used to report crime tips - such as information regarding perpetrators of violent crime, theft, vandalism, drug activity, etc. Abingdon residents are strongly encouraged to empower themselves and participate in the fight against crime in our community through the utilization of this new service.
